Game Dev Studio
Build. Polish. Publish. In 6 sessions.
GDevelop and Unity: physics, player control, enemy AI, UI and a finished game published on itch.io. The most creative camp we offer.
What They'll Build in 6 Sessions
Every project is a real, playable game, not drag-and-drop templates.
GDevelop Platformer
A side-scrolling platformer with animated player, moving enemies, collectibles and a level end trigger, built in GDevelop (no code required)
Top-Down Shooter
A top-down game with player movement, enemy spawning, bullet mechanics, score and a wave system, introducing event-based game logic
Unity Prototype
A physics-based Unity scene with Rigidbody, Colliders, C# scripting basics and a simple game loop, first exposure to a professional game engine
Published Game (itch.io)
The student's original game concept, built, polished and published on itch.io with a cover image, description and playable link

Who It's For
Perfect for
- Students aged 10โ15 who love games and want to build them
- Children with basic computer confidence (no prior coding or game dev experience needed)
- Creative students who have ideas for games but don't know how to build them yet
- Students who want a portfolio piece, a published game with a shareable link
Not quite the right fit
- Children under 10, the Unity scripting in Week 2 requires logical reasoning and reading comprehension
- Teens 15+ with existing Unity or C# experience, the Teen Game Development course goes much deeper
Camp Format
How sessions are structured, and why it works.
1 Hour Per Session
Focused, well-paced sessions that keep energy high. Three sessions per week gives time to practise and consolidate between classes.
GDevelop + Unity (Free)
GDevelop is free and browser-based. Unity Personal is free for students. Both work on Windows and macOS. Setup guide sent before camp starts.
Every Session Builds Something
Game dev is the most satisfying creative field for instant feedback, every session ends with a playable result.
Small Group Format
Camp classes are small groups, enough peers to collaborate and share ideas, small enough that every student gets meaningful attention from the instructor.

From Campers & Parents
โHe published his first game on itch.io on the last day of camp. 200 plays in the first week from people he'd never met. That kind of real-world feedback is irreplaceable.โ
Tunde A.
father, Lagos (Game Dev Studio Camp)
โThe camp covered both GDevelop AND Unity. I didn't expect that. She now knows which engine she prefers (GDevelop, she says it's more fun) and has skills in both.โ
Sophie K.
mother, Birmingham (Game Dev Studio Camp)
โI came in not knowing what a GameObject was. I left with a published game and the confidence to keep building. The tutor treated me like a developer, not a student.โ

Frequently Asked Questions
Do we need to install anything before the camp starts?
GDevelop runs entirely in the browser, no installation needed for Week 1. For Week 2, Unity Personal Edition is a free download (~1.5GB). We send a setup guide one week before camp starts with step-by-step instructions.
Is C# (Unity scripting) too advanced for a 10-year-old?
We introduce C# gradually and only in sessions 4โ6, after students have already built confidence in GDevelop. We focus on practical application, variables, movement and collision, not abstract syntax theory. Most 10-11 year olds handle it well with small-group support.
Can my child's game actually be played by other people?
Yes, the final game is exported as a WebGL build and published on itch.io. Anyone can play it in a browser without downloading anything. Students share the link during the final session and we review real-world plays together.
What's the difference between this camp and the Game Development teen course?
The camp is a 6-session sprint across 2 weeks covering GDevelop + Unity basics and ending with a published game. The teen Game Development course goes much deeper into Unity. C# OOP, NavMesh AI, Cinemachine, polished UI and a more substantial final project. The camp is a great introduction; the course is for serious commitment.
Which age group does GDevelop vs Unity work best for?
GDevelop's event-based system (no syntax) is ideal for ages 10โ12. Unity's C# scripting suits 12โ15 better. Our 2-week camp does both, so every student discovers which fits their brain. Many come back and do the full Unity course after.
