What They'll Build in 6 Sessions
Four complete Scratch projects, from the very first session.
Animated Animal Story
A multi-scene animated story with characters, backgrounds and sounds, the classic first Scratch project done properly.
Catch the Stars Game
A simple catching game with a moving character, falling objects, a score counter and a game-over screen.
Interactive Drawing Pad
A colour-picker drawing application where the user controls a brush with the mouse and keyboard.
My World. Final Project
A free-choice project where the student picks what to build, a game, a story or an interactive quiz, and builds it start to finish.
What We Cover
Every session builds on the last, from first sprite to final project.
Sessions 1โ3: Foundations
Meet Scratch
Interface tour, sprite library, first animation (a cat that meows).
Stories & Scenes
Costumes, backdrops, dialogue bubbles, scene transitions.
Movement & Events
Keys, mouse clicks, conditional movement, bounce.
Sessions 4โ6: Games & Final Project
Variables & Score
Creating a score variable, detecting collisions, win/lose states.
Build the Catch Game
Full game build day with all mechanics.
Sounds & Polish
Adding sound effects, music, visual polish and game feel.
Who This Camp Is For
Great fit โ
- Children aged 6โ9 with no coding experience
- Young learners who are curious about how games and animations are made
- Kids who love Scratch, art, games or stories, or all four
- Parents looking for a structured first coding experience with a real outcome
Not the right fit โ
- Children under 6, they need to be able to read instructions independently
- Kids who've already completed a Scratch course (they'd be bored, look at our Advanced Scratch programme)
Camp Format
1 Hour Per Session
Focused, well-paced sessions that keep energy high. Three sessions per week gives time to practise and consolidate between classes.
Scratch (In Browser)
No downloads needed. Scratch runs in any browser, setup takes 2 minutes on the first session.
Project-First
No slide decks, no lectures. From session 1 we're building something, learning comes from doing.
Small Group Format
Camp classes are small groups, enough peers to collaborate and share ideas, small enough that every student gets meaningful attention from the instructor.

What Parents Say
โMy daughter was 7 when she did the beginners camp. She built an animated story about her cat. She showed it to everyone in her class. The pride on her face was everything.โ
Mrs. Nwankwo
mother, Lagos
Coding for Beginners CampโHe'd never typed a line of code. By session 3 he had a game that scored points. By session 6 he had his own project that he designed himself. Remarkable.โ
James T.
father, London
Coding for Beginners CampโThe tutor was incredibly patient. My son is 6 and loses focus quickly. She found ways to keep him engaged every single session. I could see the difference week on week.โ

Frequently Asked Questions
Q.Is 6 really old enough to start coding?
Yes. Scratch was designed for ages 6+ by MIT and is used in primary schools worldwide. The visual block-based format means children learn logic, sequencing and creativity without needing to type or remember syntax. Our youngest camp alumni have been 5-and-a-half.
Q.Does my child need to be able to type?
No. Scratch is entirely drag-and-drop. Basic mouse control and the ability to read short labels are the only technical requirements. We do use the keyboard for some movement controls in games, but only simple directional keys.
Q.What if my child gets stuck or frustrated?
That's what the small group format is for. Sessions move at the pace of the group, but the instructor can always pause to help an individual, getting stuck is part of coding, and learning how to get unstuck is one of the most valuable lessons of the whole camp.
Q.Will they lose their projects after the camp?
No. All projects are saved to their Scratch account, which they keep permanently. We also export a copy of every project file and put it in a folder that's handed over to parents on graduation day.
Q.Do you offer this track outside of camp seasons?
Yes, the same curriculum runs as a term-time weekly course (Kids Scratch Programming, ages 6โ10). But the camp format is faster, more immersive and designed around a holiday fortnight specifically.
